2. Within minutes, the courtyard was full of excitement.

4. Imaan smiled and asked whether that was a suggestion.
5. “A decision,” Akhlaq replied proudly.
6. Akhlaq called that a technical detail.
7. Each member had a different task.
8. The whistle blew.
9. Team Amanah worked smoothly.
10. They finished first.
11. “Alhamdulillah!”
12. Imaan exclaimed.
13. Mohsin grinned, while Akhlaq jumped in the air.
14. Their happiness was natural.
15. They had worked together and won fairly.
16. The next activity was tug-of-war.
17. Mohsin looked at the rope and smiled.
18. “Now this is interesting.”
19. Team Amanah won the first round comfortably.
20. Slowly the rope moved towards them.
21. They won again.
22. “Two competitions, two victories!”

24. For now, winning had made them happy.
25. It had not yet made them arrogant.
26. But the third victory began to change something.
27. That afternoon, Team Amanah won an obstacle course as well.

29. Even Imaan smiled.

31. “That sounded a little proud,” she said.
32. Akhlaq answered that he had been joking.
33. Mohsina shrugged.
34. “Nothing yet,” she said when he asked what was wrong.
35. Mohsin looked at the scoreboard with satisfaction.
36. “I don’t think anyone here is stronger than us.”
37. Akhlaq nodded.
38. “The numbers are right there.”
39. He tried once, dropped it, and tried again.
40. Mohsin watched him and laughed.
41. “That is going to take him all day.”
42. The boy heard him.
43. His face changed.
44. Mohsina looked at Mohsin and told him he could help.
45. Mohsin shrugged and said the boy would learn.
46. Imaan glanced at him.
47. The next event was different.
48. Mohsina reminded him that it was a communication challenge.
49. Within seconds of starting, Akhlaq shouted, “Left!”
50. Mohsin replied that he was going left.
51. “Your other left!”
52. Akhlaq yelled.
53. The box struck a cone.
54. Penalty.
55. A few seconds later, they hit another.
56. For the first time that week, Team Amanah did not win.
57. They came third.
58. Mohsin complained that strength hardly mattered.
59. Mohsina smiled and said, “Perhaps that was the point.”
60. He was still practising with the training bag.
